We are looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher in applied entomology to join the Sustainable Plant Protection Program team, based in Cabrils. We offer the opportunity to be part of an organization with a dynamic, collaborative work environment focused on professional development.

The Postdoctoral Researcher will focus on the assessment of sustainable pest control methods and on the development of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies to proactively promote the presence of natural enemies of pests, to monitor them, and to set up biological control strategies in different commodities and storage facilities.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Contribute in a proactively manner to the activities of the research line in applied entomology, performing scientific and technical tasks related to the ongoing projects.

• Participate in the planning, execution, and analysis of experiments to ensure the achievement of milestones of the research projects.

• Contribute to the scientific production of the research and innovation activities of the Program.

• Update continuously with scientific knowledge to be positively transferred to stakeholders and end-users.

• Help positioning the Sustainable Plant Protection Program as a group of excellence through regular peer-reviewed publications and contributions at national and international congresses.

• Collaborate with teamwork and team-spirit in the Sustainable Plant Protection Program, fostering collaboration and integration activities.

Required qualifications and experience

• PhD in Agricultural Entomology or related disciplines.

• Proven experience in arthropod pests affecting stored products, with a special focus on their monitoring and management, and an outstanding record of scientific publications in this field.

• Knowledge of biological control would be an asset.

• Proven research skills: literature review, data analysis, scientific article writing.

• Dissemination skills: presentation/communication skills, and technical writing.

• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

• Strong teamwork skills, ability to adapt to multidisciplinary environments and a focus on professional growth and development.

Desirable requirements

• Capacity to prioritize tasks effectively and to anticipate, plan and write R+D projects, reports and technical documents.

• Capability and ability to learn and successfully work within multidisciplinary teams.

• Teamwork skills and ability to establish and build relationships that will allow pursuing the objectives of the R&D activities.

• Proven experience in supervising students.

• Flexibility and capacity to adapt.

• Driving licence.

• Knowledge of Spanish and/or Catalan is valued.

Requisits i experiència:

• Doctorat en Entomologia Agrícola o disciplines relacionades.

• Experiència demostrada en artròpodes plaga que afecten els productes emmagatzemats, amb un enfocament especial en el seu monitoratge i gestió, així com un historial destacat de publicacions científiques en aquest àmbit.

• Es valorarà el coneixement en control biològic.

• Habilitats demostrades en recerca: revisió de la literatura, anàlisi de dades i redacció d'articles científics.

• Habilitats de divulgació: capacitats de presentació/comunicació i redacció tècnica.

• Domini de l'anglès, tant oral com escrit.

• Sòlides habilitats de treball en equip, capacitat d'adaptació a entorns multidisciplinaris i orientació al creixement i desenvolupament professionals.

• Capacitat per prioritzar les tasques de manera eficaç i per anticipar, planificar i redactar projectes d'R+D, informes i documents tècnics.

• Capacitat i habilitat per aprendre i treballar amb èxit en equips multidisciplinaris.

• Habilitats de treball en equip i capacitat per establir i desenvolupar relacions que permetin assolir els objectius de les activitats d'R+D.
